Hartbeespoort Pumps Fixed

“Sewage has stopped flowing into the Hartbeespoort Dam after the broken pumps were fixed.
The spill made headlines this week and the Water Affairs Minister Edna Molewa was called to intervene on Wednesday. She gave the Madibeng Municipality six months to fix the infrastructure problems at the plants. 

Two pumps at the Xanadu pump station were not working because of a lack of maintenance. Another pump station was also vandalised and cables were stolen.  

The Democratic Alliance (DA) councillor Graeme Peplar said security was placed at both pump stations.
‘Madibeng has also contacted the security company who places security guards for the council at certain strategic positions,’ he said.”
